What a nice way to end NYFW! Jeremy Scott’s Fall 12 collection screams psychedelic cartoons on acid, and I LOVE it! Fun and vibrant colorful prints were seen on virtually every garment from sweaters to pants to footwear. Unicorns, pixelated icons, and colorful fur was also seen in the collection. Mainzer Fastnacht / The Mainz Carnival

The Mainz Carnival (Mainzer Fastnacht,„Määnzer Fassenacht“ or „Meenzer Fassenacht“) is a months-long city-widecarnival celebration in Mainz, germany that traditionally begins on 11 November but culminates in the days before Ash Wednesday in the spring. It is one of the largest carnival events in Germany and, along with the Cologne and Düsseldorfer carnivals, Mainz is one of the three cities prominent in the rhenish carnival tradition.

Fasching (sebutan lain untuk karnaval Fastnacht) kedua saya selama saya tinggal di jerman. daaaan masih seperti tahun kemarin, dengan ketidaksiapan kostum dan kengasalan yang amat sangat, atribut saya tidak bertema.. melihat masyarakat mainz yg antusian banget dalam menyambut fasching, maka dari itu saya bertekad tahun depan harus mempersiapkan kostum yang heboh. harus niat pokoknya! harus!!

di karnaval ini para peserta parade dengan kendaraan-kendaraan hias yg super heboh dan berbagai macam kostum bertema membagi-bagikan (melempar-lempar lebih tepatnya) snack seperti permen, marshmallow, waffle, popcorn, cokelat dll kepada para penonton parade. bahkan ada juga yang melempar lap mobil, tissue kotak, tester parfume, alat tulis, minuman kotak dan masih banyak banda2 kecil lainnya. bayangkan saja minuman kotak sebesar kepalan tangan dilempar2 kearah penonton. ngeri ketimpuk aja sih..tapi masih loh para penonton dengan setianya menyambut mereka dan menyapa2 dengan seruan “Hellau!” (salah satu trademark fasching di mainz adalah kata seruan/sapaan “Hellau!”).

ohya, hasil tangkapan karnaval tahun ini jauh lebih sedikit dibanding tahun kemarin :(
